Project Scope: This project featured the complete renovation of the 100,000 SF Air National Guard Readiness Center Facility at Andrews Air Force Base, MD. The contract included the provision of 20,000 SF of custom modular office space for the temporary relocation of the building occupants during the renovation process. The facility's interior work included complete new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, new wall systems, finishes as well as a complete new front entry with customized point supported glass window wall system and modified foyer/reception area. The exterior work included the repair of the existing brick masonry system, the modification of existing balconies including EIFS system and the removal and replacement of non-ADA compliant walkways. This contract also included the upgrade of peripheral areas, such as modifications to the loading dock, a new ice storage system and a new life safety water systems building. The National Guard added a 30,000 SF, three-story administrative building addition to the scope of work to accommodate government workers previously located off-base. The building addition consisted of traditional building trades plus an elaborate glass curtain-wall system and high-end interior finishes.
